Storypole Noord – Discover the Untold Stories of Amsterdam-Noord

As part of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, the Storypole Noord exhibition offers a year-long, open-air storytelling experience in the Overhoeks district of Amsterdam-Noord. Since March 27, 2025, visitors can walk a trail of six story poles (verhaalpalen) that reveal lesser-known tales of the area — from its industrial past and shipyards to its rise as a hub for creatives and innovation.

The initiative was created by Studio Zeppa and writer Bas Kok, highlighting both historical shifts and personal narratives that shaped Noord’s unique identity. The exhibition is freely accessible and accompanied by the book Gogme – How Amsterdam Became a Global City, providing a deeper look at the city's growth from a northern perspective.
